Sheila Weil Studios began in 1997 in Austin, Texas after happening upon some broken ceramic tile and a flower pot. That little garden creation inspired more of the same, which quickly grew to a variety of home items to decorate her apartment. Not completely fulfilled with a career in graphic design, she realized that mosaics offered a fantastic outlet for both personal and practical expression. She then began her business in earnest, searching for the finest tiles, as well as quirky and offbeat materials from which to create her designs with.
Deciding to move back home to Cleveland in 2000, Sheila relocated her business, and has gone about smashing tile and wielding loud and dangerous power tools ever since. She loves the freedom that mosaics provide, allowing her to create practical and useful pieces as well as ones of pure expression. While Sheila has yet to meet her goal of mosaicing The Chrysler Building or refacing the Great Wall of China, she is content for the moment in helping people to better enjoy their homes with the colors and textures of her work.
Sheila is available for custom commissions. Please contact her with interest in kitchen & bath installations, still-lifes, and home decorative pieces. She enjoys working with you to bring unique & lasting style to your home.
